This week, we'll discuss a powerful tool for business improvement instead of Excel content.

Excel and analysis are the best business partners; one won't work well without the other.

When I was working as a data project leader, regardless of the project's size, I needed to thoroughly understand the entire project, including all the numbers and business context.

However, it's difficult to connect the fragmented pieces and organize them logically in one place.

Enter my hero: The 'A3 report.'

This picture is just a sample. You can grasp the concept but no need to study the details.

This 'A3 report' blew my mind when I was studying for a Master's Degree in Operations Management.

After applying it, I was able to master the business context and answer challenging questions from stakeholders.

More importantly, I could present the business project logically and smoothly by adapting the flow of the A3 report.

That's a huge benefit for me, and I hope you can benefit too.

The concept is simple and very easy to follow.

You should carefully select key points from different project phases and put them on an A3-size paper.

The size of A3 paper can limit your content to be concise and to the point.

A3 Report

Phase 1: Background

Describe why the project is necessary.

Phase 2: Current Situation

Conduct a thorough check of the current status with numbers.

Phase 3: Analysis

Highlight your findings through data analysis.

Phase 4: Goals

Specify the goals.

Phase 5: Recommendations

Present your alternative solutions.

Phase 6: Implementation Plan

Provide a concise work plan.

Phase 7: Follow-up

Explain how you will follow up on the work plan.

Phase 8: Result Report

Describe how you will monitor the results with numbers.

You can practice and experience the magic of this A3 report in your workplace. Enjoy!

By the way, I've incorporated useful business management frameworks in my Excel Analytics OS course. You will benefit not only from functional training but also from applying Excel in your business work.
