SLW #012: Enhancement begins with right data collection

weekly newsletter

Exciting news! The Excel Analytics OS student community is gradually growing worldwide!

You can take a look the Excel Analytics OS course

I'm thrilled to share more about the Excel Analytics OS course. As you might already know, I'm collecting two simple yet valuable pieces of information when people, including yourself, sign up for my newsletter or course.

  1. Student's Country

  2. Student's job function

I'm interested in knowing where you're from and what your job function is. Why? This information helps me refine my social media content, course materials, and marketing strategies to help more business professionals.

Online world is completely different with offline.

My journey began many years ago as a salesperson in a retail shop. I interacted with numerous customers daily, engaging in conversations, understanding their concerns and queries, and guiding them to the right products, ultimately leading to successful sales.

During those interactions, I never worried about connecting with people; I could easily engage in two-way communication whenever needed.

However, online business presents a different scenario. My communication with you primarily occurs through daily LinkedIn posts and a weekly newsletter. Unfortunately, this tends to be more one-way communication than interactive dialogue.

So, how can I enhance my content and marketing strategy without burdening you excessively?

To help more people, I gather two key pieces of information:

  1. Student's Country

Currently, my diverse student body hails from various corners of the globe, including:

Australia, Austria, Cambodia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Venezuela.

Begin your learning journey alongside peers from around the world right here.

My primary aim is to help you efficiently master Excel Analytics through a comprehensive single course. I don't intend to create separate master classes anymore. At present, I am content with the learning framework I've established, which consists of two major components:

  • Excel Analytics OS Course: Building a strong foundational understanding of Analytics.
  • Excel Analytics Muscle Builder: Providing ongoing support to students with practical tips, tricks, and advanced applications.

This setup is more than satisfactory.

This country-specific data enables me to support my students by offering the course in multiple languages and considering the purchasing power parity of specific countries.

  1. Student Job Functions

Currently, my students are engaged in various professional fields:

As evident from the chart, more than 25% of my students come from the "Finance" field, followed by those in "Sales," "IT," "Admin and Support," "Accounting," and "HR."

I have included this chart on my course webpage.

This distribution of job functions boosts my confidence in promoting the course in the right direction, particularly as I aim to assist business professionals in elevating their Excel analytical skills. It also empowers me to continuously update and refine my course content according to the diverse profiles of my students, thereby aiding them in achieving their individual goals.

For instance, recognizing the substantial presence of finance students, I've incorporated a "Waterfall Chart Tutorial" into the "Muscle Builder". I will continue leveraging these valuable insights to enhance the quality of my content.

I genuinely hope that sharing these straightforward data points doesn't inconvenience you. On the contrary, I believe it will prove beneficial to both you and me.
